Total Hours to Read: Just over 2
--Average pages per minute: 1.15
Sex/Romance: More like a noted lack of. (As in, the character wonders why there isn't any).
Language: Nothing of note.
Violence: Yes, there is violence. Descriptions of people burning alive as well as mentions of suicide, description of attempted suicide (by pills), and a killer robot dog.
Thoughts: I wanted to read this book after I finished watching Equilibrium the other day. I loved the movie, but also felt that it was very similar to the main plot points of this book. I decided I needed to finally read this book and find out.
I really enjoyed this book and its look at a dystopic, future world. I found it to be chilling in its descriptions of how people stopped wanting to learn, understand, discover, and didn't want any opposing viewpoints to confuse them. It sounded scarily similar to how many people today go absolutely bonkers when someone has a different opinion than them.
In the end: 4 out of 5 stars. I got really upset every time they destroyed another book.
