Could I have watched this with my Dad? : Sure.
Could I have watched this with my Mom? : Sure.
Language: Minimal to none.
Sex/Romance: Yes, there are some leanings towards romance with a bit of an oblivious triangle going on. There are also some crude sexual jokes made (although they aren't very obvious at first hearing).
Violence/Gore: There is plenty of violence, much less gore.
Music: Nothing mind-blowing.
Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterward? : No.
Was there a food pairing? : Pizza. BUT- since I had just had pizza pretty recently, I decided to try switching things up this time and got my pizza with ham, bacon, pineapple, and roasted red bell peppers. It was a fun adventure, but I probably won't repeat that order any time soon.
Thoughts: So basically, my bestie and I got pizza and a couple drinks and watched this to laugh at it. If I had watched it at 13 I probably would have LOVED it and had a major crush on the dark, broody, male character (Jace), and might've been obsessed with it for quite a while. But, since I am not thirteen, and am in fact quite a few years past thirteen, it was very fun to watch and laugh at all the bad acting and cringy romantic issues. It does have a really fascinating premise, they just didn't do a great job with it overall. And from what my friend tells me the books aren't much better.
For the love of my eyes please put some pants on, people!
Was this a good use of limited time with my bestie? : For sure!
In the End: 5 out of 5 stars for an ironic watch. It's in that nice middle ground where it's good enough to be interesting and bad enough to laugh at.
