Could I have watched this with my Dad? : Yes, but those sexy scenes would be awkward.
Could I have watched this with my Mom? : Probably, but I'm not sure she would care to watch sexy Shakespeare.
Language: Shakespearean. (But really, no bad language.)
Sex/Romance: Yes. First off, the whole point of the movie is love/romance. Second, this version is a bit sexy. The movie starts with a couple in bed together. There are some other sexy moments throughout, but never anything explicit.
Music: Loved the original pieces in this and how they incorporated the original text into the more modern style of the movie.
Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterwards? : Nope.
Was there a food pairing? : Chili mac casserole. Made it myself...
Thoughts: I absolutely love this interpretation of a Shakespeare classic. I had a very rough day the day before, and this was a much needed relief. I laughed harder than I have in long time!
The black&white aspect was unique. I like it because I feel that it leaves more room to focus on the actions and dialogue.
I felt like the actors did a superb job, and if ever I didn't quite catch a line I understood exactly what was going on by simply picking up the intonation, facial expressions, and body language of the actors.
The comedy was amazingly well conveyed.
Was this a good use of a night with the house to myself? : Absolutely.
In the End: 4 out of 5 stars. I think this movie deserves much ado!
