Steam Summer Sales can be deadly...well, for your wallet anyway.

Time Played: 4 hours (for main gameplay only)

Aesthetics/Graphics: Not stunning quality or amazingly beautiful or anything, but very well suited to the game.

Gameplay: Just the right level of challenging that I felt smart and super satisfied every time I passed another level.

Story: Terrifying and phenomenal. This is not a horror game, so it may seem odd that I called the story terrifying. However, if you understand the concept of implied line, and then apply that concept to the idea of a game's story, you get what Portal gives you. Bits and pieces that may not seem like much, (and you have to find them on your own), but if you connect the dots it is really good.

Language, Romance, Gore: No gore unless you count your blood on the walls. (In which case git gud.) Absolutely no romance. No strong language.

Thoughts: Okay, LOOK. I KNOW I am waaay behind on my games. But I'm okay with it. I have a ton of hobbies, and gaming has been low on my priority list for a while. However, I am so glad that I finally got around to buying and playing Portal! What a captivating game! The main story gameplay might not have taken me very long, but it was fun, a good challenge, and did a great job of holding my interest! And, now that I finished the main story there are advanced levels and bonus maps to play! Love it!

Was it worth the money?: I paid $0.74 for the game. I would have gladly paid $10 or maybe even $15. Absolutely, yes.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I only wish there was more! (Oh wait, what's that? There's a Portal 2? And I already bought that one, too? Wow! What a crazy random happenstance!)
