Roadhouse

Summary:

Rating: R

Could I have watched this with my Dad? : Possibly, but man would those naked scenes be awkward.

Could I have watched this with my Mom? : Nope.

Language: Yep.

Sex/Romance: Yes and yes.

Violence/Gore: Violence, yes, but only a little gore.

Music: I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if I wasn't watching this movie with a migraine...

Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterwards? : No.

Was there a food pairing? : I'm pretty sure I just had a bowl of frosted mini-wheats for dinner. They were tasty.

Thoughts: The 80s, man. This movie started off super cool with Patrick Swayze as a bouncer- excuse me, cooler. I love that man. I have loved him since I first watched the original 1984 "Red Dawn." I immediately loved his character in this movie, however things went downhill as the movie progressed. Pretty soon there were people having sex in the closet, naked people everywhere (lots of female breasts and fully naked men seen from the back) and just a lot of 80s junk. I watched to the end, (because I had a migraine and nothing else to do), but the conclusion was super unsatisfying. If it had had a better ending I might have been okay with it, but it didn't. The ending was weak, anti-climatic, and illogical. It also left a couple loose ends. Very disappointing.

Was this a good use of a night with the house to myself? : No. But I had a migraine anyway, so it didn't feel like a massive waste. Just a plain waste.

In the End: 1 out of 5 stars, and it's for Patrick Swayze and the line "It's my way or the highway."
