Summary:
Rating: PG
Could I have watched this with my Dad? : Yes.
Could I have watched this with my Mom? : Yes.
Language: No.
Sex/Romance: The barest hint of romance.
Violence/Gore: Some, yes, but it's animated kids' movie violence.
Music: I didn't notice it very much, and was surprised to find out during the credits that the music was composed by Elmer Bernstein!
Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterward? : Nope.
Was there a food pairing? : Cajun Pasta. (I way overspiced it. I was dying.)
Thoughts: Cute movie. I was surprised at some of the things they got away with for a PG rating. I found Gurgi a bit annoying and I would have liked a bit more female strength. Other than that there was one continuity error I noticed that made me chuckle, but it only enhanced the charm of the movie as it reinforced its antiquity. All in all I liked it, and now have a hold at my library on all 5 books of the series it was based on.
Was this a good use of a night with the house to myself? : Yep!
In the End: 4 out of 5 stars.
