Thoughts: This is the book that finally broke my months-long reading block. After I finished a series back at the beginning of the summer, I just lost my motivation to read! I read a couple very short books, but each time I finished I stopped caring again. This book broke the dam and I am hungry for stories again! The language of this book was absolutely magical, rich and delicious, and the illustrations were positively enchanting.

I fell in love with each story I read, and really enjoyed finding the morsels of fairy tales in them. I also like the unique approach Bardugo took in narrating the stories more from a storyteller's point of view.

The book being comprised of several shorter stories made it easier for me to read in bits and pieces between classes, rehearsal, etc.

In the end: 5 out of 5 stars. Luscious.
