Series Length: 6.5 hours in 3 movies
Language: Mild language used moderately throughout. (Also one flip of the bird in both the second and third movies.)
Sex/Romance: No sex. There are the barest traces of what is supposed to be romance, but nothing is ever really declared, sooooo...
Violence/Gore: Violence and death are prevalent, but gore is kept to a minimum.
Music: A few standout pieces, otherwise just a good, driving beat behind the action.
Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterward? : No.
Female characters are few and far between
Women are weak characters and/or villains
There are some pretty hefty moral issues brought up by these movies, and in my opinion they didn't handle them well. As in, they just didn't handle them. They just kinda went, "Huh. Well, that's a strong opinion on the moral obligations of the one to benefit the many that we're not gonna bring up ever again."
At the end of the day, it is still a fairly well-written, fun ride with a captivating plot and great twists and turns along the way.
Book-to-movie conversion: the first movie gets 4 out of 5, the second movie gets 1 out of 5, and the third movie gets 2 out of 5.
For just the movies, the first movie was still the best, but the second and third had some fun as well. The new ending was an interesting twist.
