The Silence

Rating: TV-14

Could I have watched this with my Dad? : Yes.

Could I have watched this with my Mom? : Definitely not.

Language: Some, but not too bad.

Sex/Romance: Just a tiny bit of romance.

Violence/Gore: Yes and YES.

Music: Minimal, and what was there often felt incongruous.

Did I feel the need to leave the lights off and sit in silence afterwards? : No, in fact I felt a need to go around turning all the lights on.

Was there a food pairing? : Yes, I had leftover pizza, funyuns, and samoa cookies. Let me tell you, when you are watching a very quiet movie funyuns are really freakin' loud.

Thoughts: Fascinating concept, but I felt there were several plot holes along the way. I did find out the movie is based on a book, so there is a good chance that the book didn't have those holes, but I haven't read it yet so I don't know. On the whole though I did like the story, and my main complaint was simply that I wanted there to be more. I felt like the story was just getting started and we were finally about to get into the meat of the plot but then saw that the movie only had 20 minutes left! Really the part I thought was going to be the main plotline was completely skipped over! Still, I did really enjoy the concept, and the story we did get kept my attention the whole way.

Was this a good use of a night with the house to myself? : Yes.

In the End: 4 out of 5 stars. Shhhhh.
